Flower essences and Western herbs work together to help you regain balance of both the body and the mind. Whether or not we are aware of it, many of the issues we experience today stem from the powerhouse that is our brain. So, it is important to treat both the physical symptoms as well as the mental issues from which they arise.

Western Herbalism

From before recorded history, we have relied on plants to nourish and heal us. Indigenous cultures throughout the world have used herbs in their healing rituals, while others developed systems—like Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Herbal Medicine—in which herbal therapies were used. Plants continue to aid us even in contemporary medicine as they are the basis for many pharmaceuticals used today such as aspirin, codeine, digitalis and quinine.

Herbs can help to support the balance in your system through a variety of health concerns, including:

  • Nerve and Muscular Pain

  • Asthma

  • Allergies

  • Headaches/Migraines

  • PMS, Menopause and Fertility

  • Anxiety & Depression

  • Digestive Issues

  • Insomnia (and other sleep issues)

  • Issues with the Immune System

Through building the general health and resistance of the body by providing nutrients that stimulate healing, herbal remedies can help regain lost balance in both body and mind.

Flower Essence Therapy

Flower essences are infusions of flowers in water preserved with brandy, which uniquely address emotional and mental aspects of wellness. (Please note: Flower essences are very different from essential oils.) They are compatible with any other treatment schedule and have no contraindications, making them a wonderful “cause no harm” complementary medicine. Flower essences focus on rebalancing the mind and can support relief from:

  • Depression

  • Stress, Anxiety, and Panic Attacks

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Fear, Phobias and Nightmares

  • Poor Concentration and Racing Thoughts

  • Family Issues

  • Grief

  • Anger Management

  • Performance Anxiety

  • Sexual Dysfunction

They can aid in the rebalancing of physical issues, too, as our emotions affect us physically through the body-mind relationship. Overall, they help create awareness about and resolve issues of unhealthy conditioned habits or perceptions. This relearning and rebalancing can lead to greater well-being and harmony in our lives.

What is the initial consultation process like?

Before the consultation, I’ll ask you to share some basic information about your mental and physical health as well as some personal history with me so that I can be most efficient with our time once you arrive. When you arrive, I will have already pulled some supplements I think might help, but will need more information from you in order to narrow down or include additional options.

The initial consultation lasts about 2 hours which allows us time for you to share your health history with me and provide me with additional color about your main concerns. We’ll strive to gather a full picture of your overall condition so that I can address your system as a whole rather than just the symptoms. Through tongue assessment, pulse testing and listening to you, we will collaborate to find the right mix of herbal supplements for you.

What about follow-up sessions?

For most situations, follow up visits are recommended within 4-6 weeks in order to see how you are progressing and to adjust the dosage. Remember: these remedies are tailored for your body and are meant to help rebalance, so we want to be sure that we’re helping it in the best way possible.

General guideline is to complete 3-4 visits within the first 3-5 months, which can be followed by additional sessions on an as-needed basis.

How long will I need to take the herbs?

Although everyone's body is different, in general, herbs are not meant to be used for a lifetime. Rather, they are meant to help gently nudge your body back into balance so that your system can work to heal itself. Your need for certain herbs will fluctuate and change over time.

Throughout our work together, we will adjust your remedies as your needs change and your body adjusts. My ultimate goal is to help guide your body back into a self-sustaining, self-regulating healthy environment that no longer needs to be assisted by supplemental remedies.
