Welcome back to Spot Light, where we get to dive into each of our practitioner’s background and learn more about what drives them to bring skin and body healing practices to Spot. Today we have the pleasure of introducing one of our newest Spot Team members, Shayla Boger. Shayla has a healer practice that she recently decided to expand into the world of esthetics. She made a career switch from owning locally based Lovecrate, an online retail shop that sold green beauty items focused on self-care, went back to school for her esthetician’s license and is now partnering with Spot to incorporate healing skincare treatments into her overall practice. She loves working with, and connecting with people, and has a special interest in treating acne. Might she be the right fit for your next facial? Read on to find out!
What's the foundation of your practice and what's the common thread throughout all your treatments?
The foundation of my practice is a healing, gentle and holistic approach. My goal is to treat my clients from the inside out to achieve harmony and beautiful skin.
Why did you choose Spot as the place for your practice? How does Spot support your practice?
I love working at Spot because it is a place that offers healing, and I love that there is an openness to different modalities. Spot supports evolution of the practitioner, which translates in the level of care we offer—and it's also creative, inspiring, current and hip!
What treatments are inspiring for you right now?
A harmonious balance of science (including a few gadgets) and energy infused treatments are is my current favorite because I believe it is the best way to achieve excellent results. I also love treating acne because I myself, have struggled with breakouts and have found profound ways to clear skin without taking medication. It’s a treasure being able to support people feeling confident, and my direct experience offers an opening to connect with my clients.
What treatments do you offer?
I offer facials, sugaring, waxing, LED treatments, High Frequency, micro-current treatments, and Sacred Esoteric Healing. Working as a healer, I have learned that touch can be essential to one’s healing. I have also been in love with products and mixing potions to create the best skin! And people have often come to me for advice, and I love being able to help them.
How long have you been practicing and where did you get your training?
I am a recent esthetics practitioner, but have been independently studying for years, and also practicing healing work for several years, so I feel extremely comfortable treating clients. I did my advanced esthetics training as well as got my esthetics license from St. Paul College. I am also a certified acne specialist through Face Reality. My healing work was completed through The School of the Livingness in the U.K. AND I’m a Certified Health Coach with a focus on nutrition.
