What's the foundation of your practice and what's the common thread throughout all your treatments?

My practice integrates Eastern and Western approaches to healing. Whether you're coming in for neck pain or being treated for a more serious condition, I combine more than one modality of healing in each of my sessions.

How does Spot support your practice?

When I joined Spot 13 years ago, I felt it had the real potential to grow due to the practitioners deep dedication to their craft; a dedication that far surpassed what I had seen before. Since then Spot has grown from just a handful of practitioners to a thriving business with two locations and multiple team members. The sensitivity, attentiveness, advanced training and experience of the staff is still unparalleled. It keeps Spot growing and provides me with a really inspiring work environment. I have full confidence in referring clients to anyone in house because of everyone's high level of practice. The other component to Spot's business that drew me in was the conscious sourcing of the skin and body care products, herbs and other remedies. All of the the lines we carry have ethical environmental practices and are safe for the body in every aspect.

What treatments are inspiring for you right now?

I offer an Integrative Treatment that includes a few different modalities including, Acupuncture, Herbal Consultation, Dietary Therapy, Cupping, Massage, GuaSha, and Tuina. I will use some or all of these methods in a session based on my clients needs.

How long have you been practicing and where did you get your training?

I have been practicing Bodywork since 2000. I studied at Minneapolis School of Massage and Bodywork. In 2002 I studied Myofacsial Release and Unwinding with John Barnes. In 2005 I became a Birth Doula through Doulas of North America (DONA). In 2006 I studied Ashiatsu in Denver at Deep Feet Bar Therapy Inc. Then in 2008 that I traveled to Hang Dong, Thailand outside of Chaing Mai and Studied Thai Bodywork with Ajahn (Master) Pichest Boothumme. It was there that I developed a deeper interest in the Eastern philosophies of healing. Upon returning to the States I earned a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I've been a licensed Acupuncturist since 2013.

It's hard to pick what is so special about Lisa—she's just such a healer. She has a gift of making people feel safe but she also witnesses your deepest self. She's a master at holding a space for you to heal, in a super-sweet, Midwestern, unassuming way.
